- also, i just wanna say that it always bugged the hell out of me in the series that haruka stole kisses from usagi, and usagi is clearly bothered/stunned by it, but just NEVER MENTIONS IT TO HER BOYFRIEND. like, in our au, can we please have usagi and mamori have actual adult discussions about this? and she's the one that figures out that there's something haruka wants to say but can't?
- name-wise, what if her name in their current life was originally mamori? it's a feminine name that comes from 'omamori' which are like amulets or charms in the shinto religion. maybe one or both of her parents also had premonition abilities, or some other kind of supernatural link, so they named their daughter after a charm to ward off evil.
it could also be a double meaning since she's charming. 8D
maybe initially she was named mamori, but after the crash that took her parents she changed her name to mamoru. both of which mean to protect. it's a more masculine name that matches her androgynous look, and the notion of protection might be something that would be personal to her. like she has to protect herself, so she changes her name to reflect that with a more masculine/serious vibe than she had before. maybe that's less because dudes are taken more seriously, and more because she genuinely feels more comfortable in a masculine aura, because she was an actual dude in the silver millennium? it's up to you! :D
then later when she and usagi become friends, she tells her about the name change, and usagi decides to call her mamo-chan, since it honors both the name her parents gave her, and the name she chose later on.
